NASCAR Sprint Cup series: Joey Logano on pole for today's Las Vegas race


Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the world's best stockcar drivers take the track Sunday for the third race of the 2014 Sprint Cup season. Here's a look at the particulars:


What: Kobalt 400, Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Race is 267 laps, 400.5 miles.


When: Green flag 3 p.m. ET. TV coverage on Fox begins at 2:30 ET. Average race time just under three hours.


Who: Joey Logano leads the field as fastest qualifier. He and Penske teammate Brad Keselowski have their Fords on the front row. Matt Kenseth won last year's race. Kevin Harvick won last week at Phoenix, and Earnhardt won the season-opening Daytona 500.


Carl Edwards, at 191.980, was fastest in Saturday's practice sessions.


Former race winners in the field: Jimmie Johnson (4), Matt Kenseth (3), Jeff Burton (2), Carl Edwards (2), Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon.
